ICC Will No Longer Compete with NFPA National Electrical Code

Quincy, MA, June 27, 2001 -The International Code Council (ICC) has announced in a June 6 press release that it will not continue to compete with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70, National Electrical Code (NEC), according to an NFPA press release.

The NFPA and its partners-the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) and the Western Fire Chiefs Association (WFCA)-are finalizing a complete set of codes that will have the NEC as its cornerstone, according to the NFPA. The code development processes used by the NFPA and the IAPMO are accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
