  • SVI TRUCKS will partner with dealers Campbell Supply, Co.; RedStorm Fire & Rescue; and Atlantic Coast Fire Trucks to launch an East Coast demo truck tour of the SVI Medium Rescue. The truck has made two stops—at the Pennsylvania Fire Expo in Harrisburg and at the New York Chiefs Expo in Verona. The final stop will be at the South Atlantic Fire Rescue Expo in Raleigh, North Carolina, from August 8-11, 2018. Additionally, SVI is working with these area dealers to coordinate individual demos for departments that want to see a private viewing of the truck. Night demos of the tower can also be arranged.   • CMC announced that its CMC School Fall 2018 schedule will offer a broader range of rescue and rope access professional training courses and in more locations across the United States. The courses will be available at strategic locations to allow more individuals to enroll in courses such as Confined Space Rescue, Rope Rescue Technician I/II, Rope Rescue Technician III, and Rope Access (SPRAT® Level I). CMC School’s Open Enrollment for the Fall 2018 season will run from September to December 2018.   • KUSSMAUL ELECTRONICS announced Dale Tompkins as its new president. Tompkins was previously the president and CEO of Code 3, a provider of lighting and warning products for emergency responders, utility service fleets, and industrial settings. Prior to Code 3, Tompkins was part of marine leader Brunswick Corporation, where he served in senior corporate and business leadership roles. In his new role, Tompkins will be responsible for its expansion into new vertical markets such as the vocational truck market. His dual title includes Market Segment President for Specialty Vehicle Power. Tompkins will be directly responsible for all functions within the West Sayville, New York, facility.

  • EMERGENCY REPORTING® (ER) is now a vendor for GoArmyEd. Members of GoArmyEd can apply to have their ER training paid for by this government tuition assistance program. This partnering will allow ER’s customers to access training money without having to budget through their individual departments. ER offers five to eight Regional Training Academies (RTAs) per year. RTAs are three-day comprehensive training events held in major cities across the United States and are led by ER’s experienced trainers, all of whom are active or recently retired public safety professionals.
