DRYER VENT WIZARD‘s (DVW‘s) third-annual fundraiser for the Children’s Burn Foundation raised more than $14,000 to benefit the nonprofit’s programs for children burned in fires. E-ONE‘s on-site retail store, the Fire Locker, recently reopened in November with more than double the square footage of retail space and a broader selection of apparel, electronic gadgets, and various other company-branded merchandise. Located in the Welcome Center of E-ONE’s campus in Ocala, Florida, the Fire Locker offers a wide array of products from vendors such as Nike®, Columbia® and Titleist®. To further enhance the Fire Locker experience, Melissa Kahan was hired as the new marketing and communications coordinator to operate the store while also assisting with E-ONE’s social media. www.e-one.com.

AMPLIVOX SOUND SYSTEMS was awarded a Special Olympics Illinois (SOILL) 2014 Maggiano’s Hero Award in recognition of AmpliVox’s donation of portable PA systems to all of SOILL’s area and statewide offices. The award was one of 10 given to individuals, groups, or businesses that have shown exemplary commitment to SOILL and have made efforts to strengthen communities and improve the quality of life for Special Olympics athletes. AmpliVox’s donation of the portable PA systems enhanced the safety of the Special Olympics events and the positive affirmation of award ceremonies for the athletes. TANDEM PRODUCTIONS‘ television series American Fire has been acquired by a national television network and is slated to debut in June 2015, when it will be available in more than 75 million U.S. households. The program will be reality-based and filmed near Lancaster in the Dutch country of Southeastern Pennsylvania. It features the men and women of Fire Line Equipment, a five-year-old startup that buys, sells, refurbishes, and repairs fire apparatus with a nationally known reputation for ladder trucks. The series is slated for an original run of 13 30-minute episodes which will air seven times a week, followed by an encore presentation which will take the series through December of 2015, with 13 new episodes to debut in January 2016.

The NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION (NFPA) named Michele Steinberg manager of its Wildland Fire Operations Division. Steinberg has played an integral role in NFPA’s wildland fire activities since 2002. As the Firewise Communities Program manager for more than a decade, she led the national Firewise Communities/USA® Recognition Program, which includes more than 1,100 communities across the United States, and encourages local solutions for safety by involving homeowners in taking individual responsibility for preparing their homes from the risk of wildfire. She has served as a staff liaison on NFPA standards related to wildland fire and is a recognized speaker in the national and international arenas on a variety of wildland fire topics. www.nfpa.org.

AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR TESTING AND MATERIALS (ASTM) named Ronald J. Ebelhar, senior principal with Terracon, as chairman of the 2015 ASTM International board of directors. Ebelhar, who joined ASTM in 1980, is a former chairman of ASTM Committee D18 on Soil and Rock as well as several D18 subcommittees. An ASTM fellow and 2003 Award of Merit recipient, Ebelhar has received several awards from D18 including the R.S. Ladd Standards Development Award, the Woodland G. Shockley Award, and the A. Ivan Johnson Outstanding Achievement Award, among many others. Ebelhar has served on the ASTM board of directors since 2010.
