Braun Industries Delivers New Ambulances to El Paso (TX) Fire Department

Braun Industries announced the delivery of seven new Braun Chief XL Type III ambulances built on the Chevy C4500 chassis platform with bariatric capability to the El Paso (TX) Fire Department in El Paso, Texas, through it distributor LFG El Paso Truck Services a division LTG Fire and Emergency Services, out of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Braun Chief XL ambulance model is available in a Type I and Type III configuration and is also available on the Ford, Chevy, and Dodge chassis platforms. These seven units were equipped with Braun’s exclusive EZ-Glide door, MasterTech III multiplex electrical system, and all welded aluminum interior cabinets. The chassis is equipped with a Duramax diesel engine and an Allison EVS 1000 transmission.

“Braun Industries is very excited and proud of the recent deliveries to the El Paso (TX) Fire Department. With the delivery of these seven units El Paso now has 22 Braun’s in its fleet. El Paso (TX) Fire Department’s previous fifteen units were the Chief XL Type I ambulances on a Ford F-450 chassis platform. The Chief XL on the C4500 platform actually reduces the overall length of the vehicle without sacrificing the module size and is much more maneuverable through the city and El Paso terrain.” Said Chad Brown, Executive Sales Manager for Braun Industries.

Six out of the seven units were built to accommodate a bariatric system. This system includes a winch and Braun manufactured ramps to accommodate a bariatric patient. The unit was designed to try and match existing units and accommodate new systems such as the bariatric unit. “We are very glad to have these additions to our ambulance fleet. All of them will be replacing vehicles that have a long service life with the city of El Paso. The bariatric configuration will allow us to expand the geographic capability for service to this kind of patient. The additional ambulances will also allow the department to expand our services in the near future. The announcement will be forthcoming within a few weeks” said Chief Wade Warling.
