The Cape Girardeau (MO) Fire Department uses this ROSENBAUER rescue pumper as part of a standard engine company and responds to vehicle extrications throughout the city and county, explains Battalion Chief Brad Dillow. The pumper is also used as an advanced life support engine.

The Williamsfield (IL) Fire Protection District uses this ALEXIS pumper as a first-out unit for fires and accidents, says Firefighter/EMT Ty Landon. The pumper has a custom cab for added safety, maneuverability, and additional seating. The department protects a rural area that covers eight miles of I-74 and eight miles of the BNSF rail line. The top-mount pump panel and roll-up doors add safety when responding in these areas. The department mostly drafts on fire calls, and the foam system adds simplicity and added value.

The LaCrosse (WI) Fire Department has in service this rescue truck built by MARION BODY WORKS. Assistant Chief Jeff Murphy says this unit is a dedicated rescue truck. The department has separate vehicles to handle hazmat responses and other specialized calls, which is also why the trucks are not larger.
