AL Firefighters Find No Water in Hydrant Next to Burning Home

Firefighters responding to a Wilmer (AL) mobile home fire were hampered by a lack of water in a nearby hydrant.

The occupant, a volunteer firefighter, nearly lost everything in the fire, according to a report from WPMI (http://bit.ly/WDyjZV).

“On a trailer, normally you can save them,” Wilmer Volunteer Fire Chief Mike Cooper said. “Sometimes you can’t, they just go up so quick.” He told reporters that he was compiling a list of hydrants in the area with the same issue.
