AFSA Webinar: Freeze Protection Options for Automatic Sprinkler Systems

The American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) is pleased to offer this webinar on Freeze Protection Options for Automatic Sprinkler Systems” Thursday, April 28, 2011, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm Central. This 90-minute webinar will be presented for free to all AFSA members, as part of the AFSA Economic Relief program introduced August 1, 2009 now extended through December 2011.

This seminar will focus on freeze protection options for NFPA 13, 13R, and 13D sprinkler systems.   Among the key topics to be discussed is the application and new restrictions on the use of antifreeze.Additionally, methods for protection sprinkler systems using insulation, application of dry sprinklers, dry pipe systems options, and opportunities for using heat tracing will also be reviewed.  The  seminar will also cover strategies for designing systems to avoid subjecting the piping and sprinklers to freezing conditions. Participants will learn and be able to apply the fundamentals and latest technologies for protecting sprinkler systems from freezing conditions.     

As part of its Economic Relief program, AFSA is offering this webinar for FREE to all its members, including complimentary CEU/CPD credits. This webinar offers 0.15 CEUs and/or 1.5 CPDs.  The fee for non-member participants is $140 per CEU/CPD participant. About the Presenter

With 28 years of experience in the fire protection industry, Golinveaux is currently Product General Manager for Tyco Fire Suppression & Building Products. His current role applies his experience in the fire protection industry to develop water-based fire protection devices and systems. Golinveaux also represents Tyco on various committees and works to influence relevant codes and standards. He’s been a member of numerous NFPA technical committees (such as 13, 88A, 101, and 5000) and has authored many technical papers. He is also a subject matter expert for the 20th edition of the Fire Protection Handbook and has contributed editorial text for the 2002 and 2007 editions of the NFPA 13 Handbook.
