Pierce Multi-Purpose Industrial Firefighting Vehicles on Duty in Qatar

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) company, announced that it has delivered and placed into service three industrial firefighting vehicles at the Qatar Chemical Company Ltd. (Q-Chem) petrochemical complexes in Qatar. Two of the vehicles are in service in Ras Laffan in northern Qatar and the third is in Mesaieed in the country’s southern region.

The apparatus are engineered to meet the unique and wide-ranging needs of these multi-billion dollar petrochemical complexes. Two are custom chassis-based vehicles that feature large cabs for maximum interior room, rescue-style bodies with large volume compartment storage capacity and rear mounted pump configurations for maximum space utilization. The third vehicle is a quick attack pumper.

Each custom pumper features a stainless steel rear mount pump system with a 2000-gpm pump. Both vehicles are equipped with a 500-gallon foam cell, while one offers a 300-lb. dry chemical system. Both are outfitted with Pierce’s proprietary Husky® industrial foam system. The vehicles also feature a raised roof cab, 400-amp alternator, an explosive gas detection monitor, a wide array of compartments with adjustable slide out tool boards, a breathing air system and more.

The quick attack pumper is built on a four-door commercial chassis with a 1250-gpm single stage pump, 750-gallon water tank, full height and full depth compartments, adjustable tool board and shelves and a 19-inch extended front bumper.
