Cummins Engine Company has released a new brochure describing its complete line of diesel engines for fire and emergency vehicle applications. The brochure includes information on all Cummins’ fire apparatus power, including the B5.9, C8.3,L10, and N14 models, which are engineered to deliver maximum torque at lower engine speeds for better pumping performance and acceleration.

Rockwell International Corporation’s automotive division has released a new maintenance manual on the Rockwell WABCO antilock braking system. The 25-page manual introduces truck operators to the antilock braking system; describes the different versions of the system and all related components; and suggests proper service, installation, and operating procedures.

A new catalog from Direct Safety Company features pedestal lights (11.00 lumens) from Fostoria, available with single or double heads. The utility lights feature a 16or 18-inch-diameter base. The bottom support arms arc made of 12-gauge, 1 ½inch square tubing; lamp guards and impact-resistant protective lenses are standard.

AIR BOOSTERS LITERATURE

Haskcl, Inc., has available schematic drawings, photos, and literature that provide a description and information on the applications of the company’s Safetyamp Series of air-powered air boosters. The booster transfers air from the in-station 4,500-psi conventional multistage compressor into the van at 6,000 psi. NFPA 1981 BROCHURE

Scott Aviation has published a four-page, question-and-answertype brochure focusing on the 1992 edition of NFPA 1981, Open Circuit Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus for Fire Fighters. The new publication addresses such areas as requirements for the design, performance, testing, and certification of SCBA. It includes a brief overview’ of the NFPA and its certification testing of SCBA and explains the changes made from the 1987 edition to the 1992 edition of NFPA 1981.
