Jury: TX Fire Department, Apparatus Manufacturer Equally at Fault in Firefighter Deaths

Jurors found a fire apparatus manufacturer and the Kilgore (TX) Fire Department equally at fault in the 2009 training deaths of two firefighters, according to a report on news-journal.com (http://bit.ly/L7L0vt).

The finding came after an eight-day wrongful death suit by the family of fallen Firefighter Kyle Perkins, awarding them more than $800,000 in damages. Firefighter Cory Galloway also died in the training exercise.

The finding means that the majority of the punitive damages will be split between the department and the apparatus manufacturer, E-ONE.
