Fire Industry Tests
A fire department aerial ladder and platform testing, and certification program is being offered by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.
Aerial apparatus testing will be different, according to Boyd Cole, coordinator of UL fire equipment services, because non-destructive test methods will be used, and the testing is done in the field.
Testing includes ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, eddy current and hardness inspection by the independent, non-profit corporation.
