Fire Destroys Company
American Fire Apparatus Company, a division of Collins Industries, Inc., of Hutchinson, Kan., was destroyed by fire on Dec. 19. Losses were estimated at $1.1 million.
Thirteen fire trucks being assembled were burned along with the plant’s machinery and materials. A Collins spokesman hoped production would be resumed in 90 days.
