Fire Apparatus: APPARATUS DELIVERIES

The Sapilla Creek Volunteer Fire & Rescue,Silver City, New Mexico, uses this BLANCHAT MANUFACTURING vehicle strictly as a brush truck to protect a jurisdiction surrounded by forest, says Chief Paul Kenney.

• FORD F-550 4 × 4 chassis with 166-inch wheelbase and three-seat cab;
• FORD 6.8 V-10 362-hp gasoline engine and automatic transmission;
• HALEHPX-200-B 23 245-gpm portable pump with top-mount panel, FOAM PRO 1601 system three preconnects (two one-inch whip lines and one 1½-inch reduced to one-inch);
• PLASMAC 600-gallon water and 12-gallon foam tanks;
• RAMSEYfront mounted six-ton winch; and
• light and power with an ONAN5.5-kw gasoline driven generator, one GO LIGHT above the cab, and two FRC floodlights (one on each side of pump panel).

The Bedford (NY) Fire Department needed a larger rescue truck for their expanded inventory and additional seating, explains Assistant Chief Peter Lazaro. The department also wanted a better, safer platform when operating on highways. The department designed this GOWANS KNIGHT rescue truck to meet these requirements.

The Jackson’s Mill (WV) Fire Department uses this SUTPHEN pumper as a first-out unit and a rescue engine, says Chief Steve Byers. The department’s protection area includes the historical Jackson’s Milloisto

Conference Center and the boyhood home of General Stonewall Jackson.
