Towering 137 feet into the sky, the CR 137 is North America’s tallest aerial ladder. Fire and emergency vehicle manufacturer, E-ONE, Inc., is introducing this new aerial ladder at the 2010 Fire Rescue International conference in Chicago on Friday.
“For more than 30 years we have been an industry leader in introducing innovative apparatus to the market, this year’s IAFC will be no exception with our new CR 137,” said Peter Guile, President and CEO of E-ONE.
The CR 137 features a narrow 13-foot, 8-inch jack spread, criss-cross under-slung stabilizers and a speedy set up of less than 45 seconds. The welded extruded aluminum ladder combined with advanced engineering provides a 2.5 to 1 structural safety factor, exceeding NFPA requirements. One of the most impressive features of the CR 137 is its ability to reach a target that is 110 feet high and 82 feet horizontally off the side while supporting a 750 pound personnel tip load.
Along with unveiling the CR 137, E-ONE will also be giving a new Tradition ES pumper to one of seven finalists in the company’s ‘Tell Us Your Story’ contest.

Also on display during the 2010 IAFC will be a stainless steel pumper from the newly acquired manufacturing facility in Hamburg, New York. The pumper will feature a unique, patented Fiberglass Reinforced Panel (FRP) paint process in which fiberglass panels are cut to size, painted and overlaid onto the truck body. This process provides an automotive paint finish and enables quick, low cost repairs.
