Dump Truck Strikes PA Fire Station, Starts Fire

A dump truck crashed into a Pennsylvania firehouse Thursday, starting a fire that went to three alarms and engulfed the building.

WFMZ-TZ (http://bit.ly/JGYYxD) reports that the fire was first reported around 1 p.m. at the Leithsville Fire Company in Lower Saucon Township. Firefighters from Northampton, Lehigh, Bucks and Montgomery counties responded to the scene.

The driver of the dump truck was transported with serious burns to his arms. Three apparatus were destroyed in the fire.

Update (5/25/12): At least one person was killed in a vehicle involved in the initial accident. Flames from the fire were hot enough to melt the fire station’s steel roof (http://bit.ly/Lzctnb).
