Frankfort (KY) Fire/EMS uses this DANKO vehicle as a rapid intervention and airport crash vehicle, Captain Dan Shouse explains. The unit is staged near the airport and is used in other areas, especially low parking garages.

The Budd Lake Fire Department, Mount Olive Township, New Jersey, has in service two SEAGRAVE fire apparatus. One is a pumper designated as a squad that responds to all working fires and MVAs, according to Chief Kevin Maloney. The second unit provides tactical support and responds to all MVAs, haz mats, and structural fires. Both units have short wheelbases for maneuverability.

The Springfield (PA) Fire Company designed this SUTPHEN pumper with a short wheelbase and a larger pump and water tank than the previous unit, according to Lieutenant Matthew LeTourneau. It runs first-out to all structure fires and emergencies in an area of residential, commercial, and small industrial occupancies.

The Mead (NE) Fire Rescue Department replaced an engine and quick-attack unit with this SMEAL rescue pumper. Chief Joel D. Konecky says the vehicle has a large water tank and storage to carry essential equipment for fire and rescue calls in a rural area.

The Crooked River Ranch Rural Fire Protection District in Terrebonne, Oregon, depends on tankers for initial attack in its jurisdiction. Administrative Assistant Gail Martin says the area has no hydrants. This RED DIAMOND tanker replaced a much older tanker that had been built on a used chassis.
