The Funkstown (MD) Volunteer Fire Company designed this KME interface pumper to respond to limited access areas that can’t accommodate a full-size apparatus, according to Assistant Chief G. Glenn Fuscsick. The unit replaced a pumper and brush truck, responds to calls requiring off-road capabilities, and also serves as an extra pumper.

The Snohomish County (WA) Fire Department District 19 designed its HME pumper for its rural area’s needs, according to Chief Ken Strotz. It has a large water tank, two types of foam, and a flexible front suction hose to facilitate portable tank operations.

CUMMINS ISL 400-hp diesel engine with ALLISON 3000 EVS automatic transmission;

HALE Qmax single-stage, 1,500-gpm pump with topmount panel, HYPRO Foam Pro 2002 system, five-inch front intake with KOCHEK flexible suction hose, 134-inch front bumper line, three crosslays (two 134, one 212-inch), two 134-inch speedlays, and TFT Crossfire with Extend-A-Gun;

APR 1,150-gallon poly water tank with 212-inch direct fill and two 30-gallon foam tanks;

GORTITE roll-up compartment doors and four wheel well sleeves for spare SCBA cylinders;

ZICO ladder rack; and

• light and power with ONAN eight-kw hydraulic generator, HANNAY electric cord reel, and four FRC floodlights (two pole raise at front of body, two tripod at rear).

The Blue Hills Fire District in Bloomfield, Connecticut, designed this PIERCE rescue pumper to initiate fire suppression and vehicle extrication during daytime when staffing is low, according to Chief Arthur S. Gold.

The Delphos (OH) Fire Rescue replaced a minipumper with this brush truck built by WILDFIRE MANUFACTURING for fighting grass fires, according to Chief Dave McNeal.

MILE MARKER 412-ton portable winch with front and rear receivers; and

REAL POWER 12-kw PTO generator with two FRC floodlights.

Since the Wilbraham (MA) Fire Department uses this E-ONE pumper for heavy rescue, EMS, and fire attack, it has a rescue-style body to accommodate the necessary equipment, explains Chief Francis Nothe.

The Nanuet (NY) Fire Department uses this AMERICAN LAFRANCE rescue pumper as a versatile, first-out, self-sufficient “wet rescue,” according to Commissioner Harold E. Straut.
