APPARATUS INNOVATIONS/DELIVERIES

The New Castle, N.H., Fire Department has purchased a Pierce Suburban pumper. Features include a Ford C-8000 chassis, Caterpillar 3208 diesel engine, Allison automatic transmission, crew cab with top-mount pump panel, 1000-gpm pump and a 500-gallon tank.

One of four Emergency One crash/fire/rescue vehicles recently purchased by the State of Alaska. Built on a four-wheel-drive International Harvester chassis with DT 466 engines, the units have Hale 500-gpm engine-driven pumps, 1000-gallon water tanks, 60-gallon foam tanks, 500-pound dry chemical systems, Santa Rosa bumper turretts and complete fire fighting systems.

The Madison County Fire Department in Jackson, Tenn., took delivery of a Boardman 750-gpm pumper. Built on an International 1724 chassis, the unit is powered by a V-8 gasoline engine coupled to a five-speed, heavy-duty transmission. It also has a Waterous CMWB-750 two-stage pump and a 500-gallon water tank.

One of three Seagrave 1500-gpm pumpers recently delivered to the Anchorage, Alaska, Fire Department. All are mounted on FWD fourwheel-drive chassis, powered by Detroit 8V-71TA diesel engines with Allison HT 750-D automatic transmissions.

The Fort Worth, Tex., Fire Department recently took delivery of three FMC/LTI Aqua Stix pumpers from the Fire Apparatus Operation of FMC Corporation. Each 75^foot aerial has a 1500-gpm Hale pump, and a 5000-gallon water tank.

The Loma Linda, Calif., Fire Department recently purchased a 1500-gpm pumper from FMC-Van Pelt Operation. Built on a Hendrickson chassis and powered by a Detroit 8V-92TA diesel with an Allison HT-740 automatic transmission, the unit has a Hale QF150-21 two-stage pump, 500-gallon water tank, 50-gallon AFFF tank with preplumbed Akron variable 95-gpm eductor.

The Wilkins Township No. 4 Fire Department of Eastmont, Pa., recently received this custom-built Sutphen pumper. Built on a Sutphen chassis, the unit is powered by a Detroit 8V-92 diesel with an Allison HT-740D automatic transmission. It has a Hale 1500 two-stage pump and a 750-gallon water tank.

The Tipp City, Ohio, Fire Department recently took delivery of a Grumman Firecat F-12 pumper. The unit is mounted on a Duplex chassis and powered by a Detroit Diesel engine. It has a Waterous CMYBX 1250-gpm pump and a 750-gallon water tank.
