Mack Trucks has Introduced the Bulldog I aerial ladder version of its CF fire truck. The unit features a 106-foot, four-section, all-steel hydraulic aerial ladder system In midship-mounted, rear-mounted, or tractor-drawn variations on a heavy-duty cab-forward chassis. It is available with Mack diesel engines ranging from 235 to 350 hp. Pump packages up to 2000 gpm may be specified, along with a variety of booster pumps, tanks and reels and other options.

The Vernon Fire Protection District in Prairie View, III., has taken delivery of a Seagrave Rear Admiral 100-foot aerial. Powered by a Detroit 8V-71 diesel engine with an Allison automatic four-speed transmission, It has a 150-gallon booster tank and a 1250-gpm Waterous single-stage pump. Truck 1 carries specialized aerial rescue equipment, salvage covers, water vacuums, a built-in generator with cord reels and portable floodlights, a 500-gpm portable deluge set with tips and a 250 to 1000-gpm ladder pipe. An air cascade system is also built in.

The St. Mary’s, W. Va., Volunteer Fire Department recently took delivery of this Pierce pumper. The unit, which is built on a Ford C-8000 chassis, features a Caterpillar 210 diesel engine with a five-speed transmission. It has a 1000-gpm two-stage pump, two 1 ½-inch cross lays and a 1 ½ and a 2 1/2-inch preconnect on the rear of the truck.

The Tankercat, a new wetside tanker from Grumman, is available on either a Ford F-700 or F-800 chassis driven by a Ford 8-cylinder 429 4-V engine to transport the 1200 or 1500-gallon T-shaped doublewelded tank. It has a Waterous CPK-2, 300-gpm power take-off pump with a 3-inch gated suction inlet and a 2 1/2-inch discharge on the left side. The hose body can carry 400 feet of 2 ½ and 400 feet of 1 ½-inch double-jacketed hose.

The Rensselaer, Ind., Fire Department recently took delivery of this FMC/LTI 85-foot ladder tower from FMC Fire Apparatus Operation. Built on a custom fire truck chassis with a 350-hp diesel engine and a 1500-gpm pump, the lime-green unit has the capability of carrying 700 pounds payload on the platform fully extended from 6 to 75 degrees elevation with 360-degree continuous rotations. Breathing air from the air system to the platform can supply two men for four hours.

The Star Line SuperMod rescue vehicle from Elgin Leach Corporation has 66 cubic feet of interior storage, including fold-out compartments for defibrillators, communications, telemetry and electrical instruments, and 82 cubic feet of exterior storage. It can transport two or more adult patients and several infant incubators at the same time. The unit is mounted on a choice of tandem-axle Ford, GMC or Dodge chassis. Roof-mounted heating and air conditioning is controlled from a separate on-board generator which furnishes both 110 and 220-volt power.
