Powered by a 350-hp Detroit Diesel and Allison automatic transmission, it features a 1250-gpm, three-stage Waterous pump, twin high-pressure booster reels and twin Mattydale preconnects. It carries both 2 1/2 and 3-inch hose.

The Avon, N.J., Fire Department has a new 1250-gpm Hahn pumper. Weighing 32,600 pounds and with a 166-inch wheelbase, the cabforward unit features front suction, foam gear, a 500-gallon tank, and a two-stage Hale pump. It is powered by a 6V-71 Detroit Diesel engine.

Niskayuna Consolidated Fire District No. 1 of Schenectady County, N.Y., has placed in service a 1250-gpm, diesel-powered pumper with the Bendix Rapid Water injector system, built by Sanford Fire Apparatus Corporation. The truck is equipped with 2000 feet of 3-inch supply hose, four 1 1/2-inch attack lines, dual booster lines, a 500-gallon water tank, two 500-watt quartz area lights, seven air masks with spare cylinders, a portable pump, exhaust fans, communication and first-aid equipment.

The Middle Road Volunteer Fire Department of Glenshaw, Pa., recently took delivery of this Seagrave custom pumper. The unit is powered by a 350-hp Detroit Diesel 8V-71N engine coupled with a Fuller 905 five-speed standard transmission. It has a 1250-gpm pump and a CPK4 high-pressure pump, both manufactured by Waterous, and a 750-gallon water tank. The hose bed holds 2000 feet of 3-inch hose, as well as 200 feet of 2 1/2-inch preconnected hose. There are also two 200-foot lengths of 1 1/2-inch Mattydale preconnects along with two 200-foot high-pressure lines, mounted to the rear of the jump seats.

The Glendale, Colo., Fire Department has recently purchased this Pierce 100-foot aerial platform. The 100-foot LTI ladder is mounted on an Oshkosh A-1844 tandem chassis with a 248-inch wheelbase. The truck has a Detroit Diesel 8V-71 engine, Allison HT-740-D automatic transmission and a Waterous GMYBX 1250-gpm pump.

The Frankfort, Ind., Fire Department has purchased an Emergency One 20084 TC rescue vehicle mounted on a Ford C-600 chassis. This unit features an all-aluminum body with a tilt cab. Compartmentation includes over 200 cubic feet of usable storage space. It is equipped with an electric winch, tow hooks, extended front bumper. Federal AeroDynic light, four quartz 500-watt lights, two cab post spotlights and a battery charge receptacle.

Built on an Oshkosh chassis with a Pierce body, it is powered by an 8V-71N Detroit Diesel engine with an HT-740 Allison fourspeed transmission. It has a 1000-gpm Waterous single-stage pump and a 500-gallon water tank. It carries 900 feet of 1 3/4-inch hose in five crosslay sections and 1600 feet of 3-inch hose in a split hose bed.

The Elko, Nev., Fire Department has taken delivery of a Mack MC685F pumper from Truck Power & Equipment Company. It has a Mack EMDT 675 diesel engine with a Mack TR-722 five-speed transmission. It carries 500 gallons of water and has a Waterous CMYBX 1250-gpm pump. The hose bed carries 1500 feet of 2 1/2 and 400 feet of 1 1/2-inch hose plus 300 feet of 1 1/2-inch preconnected hose in two transverse hose compartments.

American LaFrance is introducing its 75-foot telescopic aerial, the Water Chief. The unit provides a three-way attack: 1000-gpm class A pumper, telescopic aerial and a water tower. The Water Chief is built on a 180-inch wheelbase. Other features include a five-man canopy cab forward, two permanently side-mounted waterways feeding an electro-hydraulically controlled nozzle at tip of ladder, delivering 300 to 1000 gpm in straight stream to full fog, and nozzle control at tip of ladder at the pump panel from a manual override at the base of the ladder.
