The Wilton, Conn., Fire Department has just taken delivery of this 1250-gpm Grumman pumper with a 500-gallon tank. The unit, which is mounted on a Ford tilt cab commercial chassis, is powered by an eight-cylinder Caterpillar V-636 diesel engine with automatic transmission.

Blackwood Fire Company No. 1, Blackwood, N.J., recently received a Pierce Fire Marshall 1500-gpm pumper which features a top-mount pump control console. It is powered by a Detroit Diesel 6V-92 engine and has an automatic transmission.

Hose Co. No. 1 of Stanhope, N.J., has recently taken delivery of this Pern-Fab custom pumper. Powered by a 350-hp Detroit Diesel and Allison automatic transmission, it features a 1250-gpm, three-stage Waterous pump, twin high-pressure booster reels and twin Mattydale preconnects. It carries both 2 1/2 and 3-inch hose.

The Avon, N.J., Fire Department has a new 1250-gpm Hahn pumper. Weighing 32,600 pounds and with a 166-inch wheelbase, the cabforward unit features front suction, foam gear, a 500-gallon tank, and a two-stage Hale pump. It is powered by a 6V-71 Detroit Diesel engine.

Niskayuna Consolidated Fire District No. 1 of Schenectady County, N.Y., has placed in service a 1250-gpm, diesel-powered pumper with the Bendix Rapid Water injector system, built by Sanford Fire Apparatus Corporation. The truck is equipped with 2000 feet of 3-inch supply hose, four 1 1/2-inch attack lines, dual booster lines, a 500-gallon water tank, two 500-watt quartz area lights, seven air masks with spare cylinders, a portable pump, exhaust fans, communication and first-aid equipment.

Rescue 7 of the Bath Township Fire Department in Lima, Ohio, was built by the Superior Division of the Sheller Globe Corp. It features a Ford V-8 engine with automatic transmission, walk-through compartment, 110-volt capabilities and built-in oxygen and life support equipment.

The Middle Road Volunteer Fire Department of Glenshaw, Pa., recently took delivery of this Seagrave custom pumper. The unit is powered by a 350-hp Detroit Diesel 8V-71N engine coupled with a Fuller 905 five-speed standard transmission. It has a 1250-gpm pump and a CPK4 high-pressure pump, both manufactured by Waterous, and a 750-gallon water tank. The hose bed holds 2000 feet of 3-inch hose, as well as 200 feet of 2 1/2-inch preconnected hose. There are also two 200-foot lengths of 1 1/2-inch Mattydale preconnects along with two 200-foot high-pressure lines, mounted to the rear of the jump seats.

The Troy, N.Y., Fire Department recently put in service this Maxim Marauder II. It features an 8V-92TA Detroit Diesel engine; Allison transmission; Hale Q-10, 1000-gpm, two-stage pump; a 500-gallon tank and a 1 1/2-inch double Mattydale lay hose compartment.

The Big John line of pumpers, which are available in 500, 750, 1000, 1250 and 1500-gpm sizes, has been introduced by Superior Fire Apparatus Co. All units feature Hale midship pumps, all-steel welded bodies and 500-gallon tanks.

The Glendale, Colo., Fire Department has recently purchased this Pierce 100-foot aerial platform. The 100-foot LTI ladder is mounted on an Oshkosh A-1844 tandem chassis with a 248-inch wheelbase. The truck has a Detroit Diesel 8V-71 engine, Allison HT-740-D automatic transmission and a Waterous GMYBX 1250-gpm pump.

The Frankfort, Ind., Fire Department has purchased an Emergency One 20084 TC rescue vehicle mounted on a Ford C-600 chassis. This unit features an all-aluminum body with a tilt cab. Compartmentation includes over 200 cubic feet of usable storage space. It is equipped with an electric winch, tow hooks, extended front bumper. Federal AeroDynic light, four quartz 500-watt lights, two cab post spotlights and a battery charge receptacle.

The Gladwyne, Pa., Fire Company recently placed this 85-foot Snorkel in service. Built on an Oshkosh chassis with a Pierce body, it is powered by an 8V-71N Detroit Diesel engine with an HT-740 Allison fourspeed transmission. It has a 1000-gpm Waterous single-stage pump and a 500-gallon water tank. It carries 900 feet of 1 3/4-inch hose in five crosslay sections and 1600 feet of 3-inch hose in a split hose bed.

One of 58 units purchased by the United States Air Force from Ward LaFrance, this Patriot P-12 pumper features a 216-hp Detroit Diesel 6V-53N engine; Allison MT-643 transmission; a Hale OLFA-75, 750gpm, two-stage pump; a 600-gallon water tank and a 55-gallon foam tank.

The Cannon Township Volunteer Fire Department has recently taken delivery of a FMC 1000-gpm pumper. Built on a Ford chassis with a 534-cubic-inch engine and automatic transmission, the truck carries 1000 gallons of water. It has an FMC volume pump and high-pressure fog system.

The Crawfordsville, Ind., Fire Department has recently received a Protector III pumper with top-mount controls from Emergency One, Inc. The unit is mounted on a Ford C-8000 chassis. It features an all-aluminum modular body with canopy extension, and is equipped with a 500-gallon tank; 100-gpm, two-stage pump; an electric primer and a tank level gage.

The Middle East Kingdom of Kuwait has taken delivery of this new Firebird 125. The unit has a proportionate foam system, can reach up to 12 stories with a 1000-pound capacity with a 3 by 7-foot platform. It can reach horizontally 66 feet over a 63-foot structure.

The Elko, Nev., Fire Department has taken delivery of a Mack MC685F pumper from Truck Power & Equipment Company. It has a Mack EMDT 675 diesel engine with a Mack TR-722 five-speed transmission. It carries 500 gallons of water and has a Waterous CMYBX 1250-gpm pump. The hose bed carries 1500 feet of 2 1/2 and 400 feet of 1 1/2-inch hose plus 300 feet of 1 1/2-inch preconnected hose in two transverse hose compartments.

American LaFrance is introducing its 75-foot telescopic aerial, the Water Chief. The unit provides a three-way attack: 1000-gpm class A pumper, telescopic aerial and a water tower. The Water Chief is built on a 180-inch wheelbase. Other features include a five-man canopy cab forward, two permanently side-mounted waterways feeding an electro-hydraulically controlled nozzle at tip of ladder, delivering 300 to 1000 gpm in straight stream to full fog, and nozzle control at tip of ladder at the pump panel from a manual override at the base of the ladder.

Emergency One’s Fire Spire which will be shown at the IAFC conference, features an extending ladder which is capable of reaching 106 feet at its fully extended position and maximum angle of elevation. It is available with a choice of chassis, pumps, booster tanks, compartmentation and ladder nestings.

The Alcan Aluminum Co. of Oswego, N.Y., recently took delivery of this 1000-gallon, 1500-gpm pumper from Sanford Fire Apparatus Corp. The unit features a Hale QSM-150 pump with a top-mount console, a Detroit Diesel 8V-71N engine and an Allison HT-740 automatic transmission on a PemFab cab and chassis.

The Springfield Township Fire Department of New Springfield, Ohio, has recently taken delivery of this FMC pumper. Built on a Ford L-900 chassis with a 534-cubic-inch engine coupled to a Spicer transmission, it is equipped with an FMC 1000-gpm volume pump along with FMC high-pressure pumping and foam systems.

The Pierce Arrow, which Pierce Manufacturing is introducing at the IAFC conference, has a Detroit Diesel 6V-92T engine, Allison HT-740 transmission and a Waterous CMU 1500-gpm pump. The 94-inch all-aluminum cab allows more room in the jump seat area.
