The Headingley (Manitoba, Canada) Fire Department uses this rescue-style pumper built by FORT GARRY FIRE TRUCKS as a first line unit responding to structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, hazmats, and grass fires, says Chief Doug Hansen. The unit has a fully enclosed body for protection from the elements.

- SPARTAN Metro Star LFD chassis with a 209-inch wheelbase and a 24-inch raised roof cab with five seats;
- CUMMINS L9 450-hp diesel engine;
- HALE Qmax single-stage, 1,750-gpm pump with a FOAM PRO 2001 Class A system, 1¾-inch front bumper trash line, two 1¾-inch speedlays, one 2½-inch rear preconnect, and an AKRON Stream Master electric monitor;
- poly 800-Imperial gallon water and 30-Imperial gallon foam tanks;
- HANSEN roll-up compartment doors that fully enclose the body; and
- light and power with a HONDA two-kw, portable gas generator, a GOLIGHT brow light, and FEDERAL scene lights.

The Lexington County (SC) Fire Service uses this SUTPHEN quint to respond to all types of alarms including first responder calls, says Deputy Chief of Administration David Fulmer. The unit is housed with an advanced life support unit and rides as a quint. Its mid-mount design affords a low travel height and center of gravity. It has greater maneuverability and access to tight areas, and the single-scissor outriggers provide quick setup and durability.

The Humboldt Township (MI) Fire Department specified four-wheel-drive for its MIDWEST pumper/tanker because the department averages 120 inches of snow yearly, says Deputy Chief Dillon Vial. The department is in Michigan’s upper peninsula, with mostly rural terrain and very few hydrants. The large water tank is used for a strong initial attack while awaiting shuttle apparatus.
