Apparatus Deliveries

The Middlebury Township (IN) Fire & EMS designed this SUTPHEN rescue truck with a pump to provide fire protection at motor vehicle accidents and to respond as a third engine if needed. Chief Jeff Wogoman says the previous truck had no pump and was supported by a pumper and a paramedic unit. With this multipurpose apparatus, the department has eliminated the pumper response.

  • CUMMINS ISL 9 450-hp diesel engine with ALLISON 3000 EVS automatic transmission;
  • 30-pound oil dry hopper
  • LUCAS rescue tools;
  • HALE Qflo single-stage, 1,250-gpm pump with a 2½-inch front bumper discharge (wyed to two 1¾-inch hoselines), a left/rear 2½-inch preconnect, and an ELKHART Vulcan RF deck gun;

The Niles (IL) Fire Department designed this PIERCE platform quint to respond to elevator alarms, hazmats, CFO alarms, and technical rescues (confined space, trench, structural collapse, water and ice) other than structural fires, says Lieutenant Doug Fuller.

The Elmwood (West Grey, Ontario, Canada) Fire Department uses this pumper built by FORT GARRY FIRE TRUCKS as a first-out unit for medwical calls, structural fires, grass fires and motor vehicle accidents, says Deputy Chief Wayne McLeod. The apparatus has a top-mount pump panel for operator safety and for scene visibility because of the area’s many narrow streets, rural roads, and farm lanes.

  • CUMMINS ISL 380-hp diesel engine with ALLISON 3000 EVS automatic transmission;

The Osseo (WI) Rural Fire Department covers five townships and the city of Osseo. Chief Nels Gunderson says the department’s CUSTOM FIRE pumper was designed to protect a largely rural/farming/Amish area featuring some hills and light and heavy industry in the city. The department covers 14 miles of Highway I-94, which has many accidents. The enclosure for the pump panel aids operator safety and rehab while reducing the wheelbase.

Features/Equipment:

  • CUMMINS ISL 9 450-hp diesel engine with ALLISON 3000 EVS automatic transmission;

The Village of Howard Fire Department, Green Bay, Wisconsin, designed this SEAGRAVE pumper to function in limited access situations with a low profile, states Chief Ed Janke. The pumper is first out to all calls except medical and motor vehicle accidents (which are handled by a first response engine). The area is fully hydranted.
