Apparatus Deliveries

Savannah (GA) Fire & Emergency Services’ Marine 1, built by METALCRAFT MARINE, is designed as an all-hazards response platform for the protection of the Port of Savannah. It is equipped and staffed to provide firefighting capabilities, water supply to land- and ship-based resources, hazardous materials monitoring, technical decontamination, surface water and dive rescue, emergency medical care, and incident command post capabilities, says Special Operation Division Chief James Vickers.

Features/Equipment:

  • Fire Storm 50 model powered by two CUMMINS QSM 11 705-hp diesel engines with two HAMILTON HJ364 jets;

Chico (CA) Fire-Rescue designed this PIERCE quint in tractor-drawn design because it offers better maneuverability and more storage space, says Acting Division Chief Ray Silverman. The vehicle is first out from its station to all calls except medical, for which a squad responds.

Features/Equipment:

  • Velocity FR chassis with 193½-inch wheelbase and four-seat cab having an interior medical cabinet and a personal protective equipment cabinet;
  • CUMMINS ISX 15 500-hp diesel engine with an ALLISON 4000 EVS automatic transmission;

The Brownton (MN) Fire Department chose this demo SPARTAN ER wildland pumper because its specifications met the needs of the jurisdiction, says Chief Chris Hansch. The department protects mostly farm country within four townships including a square mile of city. The town also features lakes, wildland, gravel roads, and two trunk highways for which a rear-mounted pump will keep the operator off the roadbed.
