>> The Bernville (PA) Community Fire Company replaced an older rescue truck that had a walk-in body with this RESCUE 1 demo. Chief Larry Rentschler says that the new truck has a cab that will seat all crew members together and a nonwalk-in body that will allow added storage while keeping the vehicle at the same length as the old one.

>> The Ardsley (NY) Fire Department replaced a shorter aerial with this SMEAL quint, which has longer reach. Chief Vinny Coulehan says that the focus was on safety, reliability, and standardized design as compared to their other apparatus. It is first-due to their response district and responds on second alarms to other districts.

>> The Prairie Township Fire Protection District, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, designed this ROSENBAUER rescue pumper with a rear-mounted pump to allow more room and functionality to the rescue style body, explains Captain Rodney Robinson. With the length of many driveways in the district and inad3equate turnaround areas, the rear pump offers closer attachment for water supply. It also responds to EMS and motor vehicle accident calls.
