The South Thibodaux Fire Company in Thibodaux, Louisiana, serves a rural area outside of the city, thus warranting a large water tank, according to Chief Mike Naquin. This CENTRAL STATES pumper is a second-generation topmount that affords the operator an overall view.

- HME SFO chassis with 205-inch wheelbase and five-seat cab;
- CUMMINS ISC 315-hp diesel engine with ALLISON MD 3060P automatic transmission;
- DARLEY LDM single-stage, 1,250-gpm pump with topmount panel, rear 21/2-inch intake, three crosslays (two 11/2- and one 21/2-inch), one-inch booster line, and TFT Crossfire monitor with Extenda-Gun;
- ROBINSON rear roll-up door; and
- two FRC pole-raise Cluster Lights.
The Miami Township (OH) Fire and EMS Department designed its LUVERNE (now CRIMSON) apparatus for multipurpose use, explains Assistant Chief Harold Thiele. The pumper is the department’s primary rescue unit and an engine. The platform is a quint to perform truck work and operate as a pumper when needed.
