>> The Fredericton (New Brunswick, Canada) Fire Department designed this SVI TRUCKS rescue unit to be more compact and versatile for the most common calls to which it responds (medical, MVAs, and light rescue). Chief Phillip Toole says it replaced a heavier vehicle which had a pump, a tank, and foam because it was seldom used. and the new truck is now supported by a quint.

>> The Coker Creek (TN) Fire Department protects an area in the rugged part of Monroe County. Chief Tim Watson says this PIERCE pumper has four-wheel drive because there are many homes and cabins that can only be reached by steep driveways and roads which are too narrow to allow the apparatus to turn around, hence the top-mount pump panel that enables the operator to work from either side of the vehicle.
