“Our Apollo II is a four (4) section, 105 Ft. all steel ‘I’ beam constructed ladder mounted on a standard rear mounted straight aerial ladder chassis, which provides a shorter wheelbase and overall length for easy maneuverability in tight turning radius conditions” says Seagrave Chairman & CEO, A. Joseph Neiner.
The first Apollo II was built for the Bridgeton (NJ) Fire Department. Bridgeton has the largest historic district in New Jersey with many turn-of-the century structures with narrow, historic streets.
Fire Chief David E. Schoch, Jr. says, “We looked at the conceptual drawings and knew that this truck would provide everything we wanted on our new Tower Ladder. Working from the ground up with all the folks at Seagrave and having input into the design of the tower was fantastic.”
