World’s First Free Mobile App for Making Fire Training Simulations to be Unveiled at FDIC 2012

Everyone agrees that simulations are essential to the future of Fire Service training. However, the cost, time, and resources involved in making or buying them prevent their widespread use.

Today, CommandSim shatters these constraints with the world’s first mobile app and desktop companion application for creating and sharing training simulations, to be unveiled next week at their booth #13038 at FDIC 2012 in Indianapolis. With the new app, called “SimsUShare Mobile,” instructors can quickly compose sims from their own photos with CommandSim’s animated smoke, fire, and other hazards, directly on their Android mobile phone or tablet, and Windows/Macintosh computers. They can then use them in the classroom or in the field to help build command, strategy, tactics, and communication skills.

“Instructors are in desperate need for economical ways to give officers more hands-on practice on incidents and hazards in their community,” explains Lt. Jim Murphy, a retired 30-year veteran of Orange County Fire Rescue and Director of Training for CommandSim. “The SimsUShare mobile app is a very affordable and practical way to make simulations for rehearsing the command decisions, strategies, tactics, and communication that need to be instinctual on the fireground. I have no doubt this is going to help save lives and property.”

Starting April 16th, instructors with Android phones or tablets (including the Kindle Fire) can install the app within 2 minutes and start making scenarios, using the free, ad-supported “SimsUSareMobile Lite” version of the app, or by choosing the full version for $4.95. The Windows/Mac companion application is available for the introductory price of $14.95, or as a free trial version. The iPhone/iPad app will be available shortly. Please contact CommandSim for more information, or to be registered to receive immediate notification on future products.
