At FDIC International 2018, one of the most popular manufacturers of firefighter self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) unveiled its new partnership and logo, its latest SCBA, and a $100,000 donation to two major firefighter charities as part of a comprehensive cancer prevention and awareness initiative.
Making its FDIC debut, 3M Scott Fire & Safety’s Air-Pak™ X3 Pro SCBA (below) is built on a proven foundation of redundant safety features to ensure the security and comfort of today’s firefighter. The new product maintains the proven design and value proposition of the Air-Pak X3, with an emphasis on enhancements to cleanability, comfort, and connectivity.

In addtion to their impressive booth, which also featured the Scott Sight Challenge, where participants raced through two tunnels to locate heat sources through thermal imaging, 3M Scott Fire & Safety also hosted the “Rock the Roof” event at the Indiana Ballroom, offering attendees food, drinks, and live music in a festive setting, culminating in Business Unit Manager John Denning presenting two $25,000 checks, one each to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network and the First Responder Center for Excellence.
The checks are part of $100,000 in charitable donations the company will make to the firefighter community over the next two years as part of a comprehensive cancer prevention and awareness initiative. The donation will enable other organizations to join the fight in minimizing carcinogen cancer hazards facing firefighters.
