Fire Apparatus Training: Basic Foam Operations

Check out some training videos produced by Captain John Crawford and Firefighter Zachary Nicholas for the city of Miami (FL) Fire Department.

“They were intended as a refresher for their driver-engineers and do a fine job of examining the mechanical functions of pumps, aerial ladders and apparatus,” said Miami-Dade (FL) Fire Captain Bill Gustin, who brought the videos to the attention of Fire Engineering. “They would be perfect for a younger generation of firefighters…although they were produced for the Miami Fire Department, they are generic enough to be relevant anywhere.”

The above video deals with initiating and troubleshooting basic foam operations.
