He serves as an Adjunct Suppression Instructor at several institutions, including Bucks County Community College (Bucks), Butler County Community College (BC3), and Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC). Additionally, Captain Sunderland is a Contract Instructor for The International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI). He has received numerous awards for his dedication and excellence in fire service training and has been a speaker at various national and international conferences. His extensive knowledge and commitment to advancing firefighting standards and practices make him an invaluable resource and speaker for our upcoming webinar. Mathé Koenen brings over 40 years of extensive experience in firefighting and rescue operations. Currently serving as a Rescue Consultant Trainer at LION EMEA, Mathé plays a pivotal role in developing and delivering state-of-the-art training programs to enhance first responders' readiness and effectiveness globally. Mathé has held various key positions throughout his career, including Fire Chief at Central and West Brabant Fire Department and Operations Manager at Falck Safety Services. His expertise spans across managing safety during high-profile events such as the Red Bull Air Race and leading instructional teams at Falck Fire Academy. Mathé's dedication to advancing firefighting tactics and tools is evident through their contributions to LION EMEA. Here, He is instrumental in creating realistic and repeatable training scenarios that prepare first responders for the live-fire dangers they encounter in the field. His commitment to safety and performance extends beyond training, as he also oversees LION's TotalCare® maintenance programs, ensuring the longevity and reliability of firefighting equipment. Fluent in both English and German, Mathé has also worked internationally as an account manager, bringing cutting-edge emergency techniques to fire brigades across Europe and the Middle East. His educational background in engineering and maintenance management and a natural talent for coaching and operations management make Mathé a leading voice in the fire safety community.

Guillermo Fernandez is a medical emergency technician and urban rescue specialist. Since 2016, he has been part of the global disaster and humanitarian crisis response team of the International Federation of the Red Cross. He has led disaster response teams for both the Mexican Red Cross and the International Federation. In 2017, he served as the Operations Director at the C5 in Mexico City, coordinating the response to the 2017 earthquake with over 1,000 team members. Later, with the Mexican Red Cross, he was the logistics and operations leader for the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team, achieving national certification as a medium-level search and rescue team. Since 2019, he has worked for the International Federation in Peru and Bolivia, leading operations and programs, notably during the Venezuelan migration crisis, Bolivian wildfires, and the COVID-19 health emergency. Currently, Guillermo is the Relief Coordinator in Cuernavaca for the Mexican Red Cross, managing emergency and disaster response teams. His passions include helping those in need, creating innovative work methods, and improving team performance efficiently. Guillermo also enjoys leisure time with family and friends, exploring new places, engaging in long conversations, and having coffee with friends. He values his solitude for thinking, self-reflection, and rest.
