Man Falls onto Train Tracks in CT, Becomes Stuck Between Platform as Train Pulls Away

A man was hospitalized after falling onto train tracks in Bridgeport on Tuesday and becoming stuck between the platform and the tracks as the train pulled away.

Emergency crews at 8:53 p.m. responded to the train station at 525 Water St. on the report of a male who fell onto the tracks, according to Tiadora Josef, director of public information for the City of Bridgeport.

The Bridgeport Police DepartmentBridgeport Fire Department, medics and officials with the MTA Metro-North Railroad responded and learned that the man was stuck between the platform and the tracks, as a train had started to pull away. The man was taken to an area hospital after he was freed from the platform.

The extent of the injuries suffered remains unknown.
