Six residents were injured, including two critically, in a five-alarm blaze Thursday morning at a boarding house in Atlantic City that spread to two neighboring buildings, officials said.

Two of the residents of the Hotel Cassino were flown to Crozer-Chester Medical Center for treatment, city officials said.

Four firefighters were treated for injuries, Atlantic City Professional Firefighters NJ FMBA Local 8 said.

“All will be OK,” the union said. ”Three were released the same day and one was admitted for observation.”

The fire broke out shortly before 8 a.m. on South Georgia Avenue. Firefighters worked for more than five hours to bring it under control.

Dozens of people were forced from their homes with Red Cross New Jersey saying it’s providing food, clothing and other assistance to 48 people in 30 families. Atlantic City officials said a total of 76 occupants were displaced by the blaze.

A firefighter rescued a trapped person on the fourth floor, the union said.

Video obtained by 6abc.com shows a man jumping from a window. He suffered traumatic injuries, Atlantic City Fire Chief Scott Evans told the television station.

“This was one of the more challenging fires we have had in a very long time,” the firefighters union said.
