Tablet Command Introduces Two New Features to Mobile Response and Fireground Management  Platform

Splitting Crews and Acknowledge features offer enhanced firefighter accountability and situational awareness for incident commanders

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (April 17, 2024) – Tablet Command, an emergency response and management solution for the fire service, will demonstrate new functionality today at North America’s largest firefighting conference, FDIC International.

Tablet Command’s mobile incident command platform increases situational awareness, speeds incident response, streamlines incident management, and improves firefighter safety and accountability. Its newest capabilities include:

Splitting Crews

  • An incident commander can now leverage the app to track how a
  • crew on one vehicle is split into multiple assignments, such as rescue companies that deploy a rigging expert or entry team, wildland crews that utilize individual lookouts, and hazmat or single members who fill key roles throughout an incident.

Acknowledge Button

  • Tablet Command customers with CAD interface for two-way communication can now quickly communicate to all users key incident information, and request that the user acknowledges receipt. This gives the incident commander confidence that their team has seen the
  • information and can make decisions or act accordingly to ensure safety at all times.

“The general rule is that firefighters hate change, but in this case all of our Folsom Fire team is super excited about Tablet Command and the enhanced capabilities it brings to our region,” says Assistant Chief Chad Wilson of the Folsom Fire Department. “The real time advance in situational awareness, incident organization (shared across all resources), and fireground accountability, significantly improves our efficiency and effectiveness.”

Tablet Command supports integration with multiple CAD, mapping, and other fire service solutions. The easy-to-use interface brings information incident commanders require into one solution for streamlined fireground management.

“Tablet Command was created to meet the needs of the fire service, which is why we constantly ask our customers questions about the software, listen carefully to their feedback, and implement additions wherever possible,” says co-founder and CEO William Pigeon. “This is one of the reasons more than 800 departments across North America work with Tablet Command.”
