Two TX Firefighters Injured at Structure Fire



According to a report from KXAN, two Austin (TX) Fire Department (AFD) crew members were injured Wednesday at a response to fire in an office building on the west side of the city.

The AFD was dispatched just before 7 p.m., to the 5500 block of Parkcrest Drive near MoPac Expressway, arriving to the structure to find heavy smoke and flames. Austin-Travis County EMS also arrived to provide assistance.

Just before 10 p.m., AFD officials said crews would stay on scene into the night to monitor and extinguish hot spots.

Fire investigators are now attempting to determine the cause of the fire and the damage the structure sustained.
