Massive Fire and Explosion Rocks TX Paint Plant



According to a report from NBC5, the Garland (TX) Fire Department (GFD) was one of several companies that responded to a massive fire and several explosions at the Sherwin-Williams paint plant early Monday morning.

First responders arrived to the plant at 701 South Shiloh Road at around 1:45 a.m. The fire has since been contained.

The GFD confirmed that they, as well as hazmat crews, are on the scene. Fire officials said they are unsure what caused the fire.

No air quality warnings have been declared, but nearby residents to report any strange smells to the GFD. Several roads in the area remain closed.

One person was injured and treated on scene. All employees had been evacuated and are all accounted for.
