There’s nowhere to hide on the fireground! Yes, you may skate by once, twice… you may even make a brief career out of it. But sooner or later your true character will surface unless you promote to an admin job (that’s another cartoon for another post)! Truth is, regardless of the assignment you only get a limited number of chances to truly make a difference, so give whatever you’re doing 100% (24/7/365) x (your career). Like my preacher grandfather used to warn me, “I may not see what you’re doing, but Jesus does!” Someday someone will be watching–what will they say about your character?
