According to a report from NBC6, Miami-Dade (FL) Fire Rescue (MDFR) crews responded to a massive fire early Tuesday morning at a public storage facility in Miami Gardens.
At around 5:38 a.m., MDFR crews were dispatched to the structure near Northwest 167th Street and Northwest 34 Block. They arrived to a light haze and fire coming from the rear of the facility. As the MDFR commenced a fire attack, the flames had spread to multiple storage units, with at least a dozen units eventually being hit by the fire.
The MDFR fought the flames from multiple angles including the interior and the roof of the storage facility.
More than 30 fire rescue units eventually arrived on scene, and they eventually stopped lateral fire spread.
Commuters in the Miami Gardens area have experienced traffic delays after lanes were blocked by the MDFR so they could contain the fire.
