Longtime OH Firefighter Dies from Injuries Sustained in Rollover Crash

According to a report from WTAP, Kevin Dailey, a lifelong member of the Middleport Volunteer Fire Department in Meigs County, Ohio, and the former chief of the Richland Township Fire Department in Fairfield County, Ohio, died on Tuesday from injuries sustained in a fire truck rollover crash on September 18, 2022.



On the day of the fatal accident, fire crews were returning from a call when Dailey’s truck rolled over onto the side of a hill and crashed on Storys Run Road in Cheshire Township in Gallia County, Ohio. Dailey was thrown from the truck, with his leg becoming pinned underneath the vehicle.

Other fire crews returning from the same call came upon the crashed truck and used air bags to lift it and pull Dailey out.



Dailey suffered lower-leg fractures and was air-lifted to a local hospital, undergoing surgery on September 19, 2022.
