Two Girls Dead in MI House Fire

According to a report from WOOD8, two females, ages 12 and 19, died early Monday morning in a house fire in Kentwood, Michigan.

Kent County dispatchers confirmed that the Kentwood Fire Department (KFD) was called at around 3:30 a.m. for a report of fire on 48th Street between Division and Eastern Avenues.

KFD Chief Brent Looman said eight people were inside the home at the time of the incident.

The Kentwood Police Department said the two girls were pronounced dead at the scene.

The conditions of the other six people who escaped the home are unknown, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
