FDNY Firefighter Injured at Multistructure Commercial Fire



According to a report from ABC7, at least one firefighter was hospitalized after a fire erupted and severely damaged a row of businesses on Staten Island, New York, just after 2 a.m. Thursday.

The flames broke out inside the Top Tomato supermarket on Victory Boulevard in the Bulls Head section, eventually spreading to four other businesses including a Mexican restaurant and a bagel shop.

Fire Department of New York crews took about two hours to get the fire under control.

The injured firefighter was transported to Staten Island University Hospital North with serious but nonlife-threatening injuries.
