One Hospitalized in CO Apartment Fire, Gas Leak

According to a report from ABC7, one person suffered life-threatening injuries after a fire struck an Aurora, Colorado, apartment complex in the 16300 block of East Radcliff Place early Friday morning.

The incident also involved a natural gas leak that went on fire several hours, said Aurora Fire Rescue (AFR) officials. The leak was contained at around 7 a.m., and the fire is now also under control.

The AFR received the call shortly after 3:30 a.m. for a report of fire at the two-story apartment complex. Crews discovered one person in need of medical attention, and that the injuries are considered life-threatening.

The department said that the fire was under control as of 4:48 a.m., but the gas leak was still active at that time.

It’s unclear how many units the fire impacted or the extent of the damage done. Fire investigators are now on scene to determine the cause of the incident.
