No Injuries Reported After Gas Line Ruptures, Explodes in PA

According to a report from WJAC, nearly a dozen fire crews were dispatched to a gas pipeline explosion in Clermont, McKean County, Pennsylvania, Tuesday evening.

Wilcox Volunteer Fire Department (WVFD) officials say a Tennessee Gas line, located approximately two miles off of Wilcox Road, ruptured and burned an area approximately five acres in size. The cause of the rupture has not yet been confirmed.

The WVFD reported no injuries from the blast, and fire crews were on scene for several hours to contain the flames.

Officials say the DCNR was called into to assist with the investigation, along with representatives from Tennessee Gas.

Several McKean County fire departments and Elk County fire crews were also assisting on scene.
