KS Firefighter Dies After Being Injured at Structure Fire

A Kansas firefighter has died after being injured while operating at a structure fire earlier this week, according to reports.

Joshua Haynes, a firefighter with Rural District 1 Fire Department, was injured Monday night while battling a fire at the Carpenter Chiropractor Clinic in Pleasanton, according to FOX 4 News.

Few details were released about the incident, but other firefighters rescued Hayes from the building and he was transported with life-threatening injuries.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration notification, on Monday night, June 20, 2022, Firefighter Joshua Haynes, 35, responded to a building fire at Carpenter Chiropractic. While fighting the fire, he experienced a medical emergency and collapsed at the scene. He was airlifted to the University of Kansas Medical Center where he passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022. The cause and nature of his death are under investigation.
