Indianapolis (IN) firefighters responded Monday, June 6, 2022, to an early morning fire that burned multiple structures.
Crews found two, two-story unoccupied structures fully involved at 6th and Illinois St. A third building, an occupied structure, was threatened by flames. Firefighters roused and helped a family of four to escape the latter residence, along with their pet dog. The apartment building to the south was also evacuated.
Command ordered defensive operations only. The three homes were brought under control within an hour and seven minutes. Both of the main fire homes were under renovation, according to a report from the department. The fire is under investigation.
