Kansas City (MO) Firefighters Rescue 15 from Apartment Fire

Kansas City (MO) firefighters rescued 15 people from an early morning apartment fire, nine of whom were children, according to news reports.

Firefighters responded after midnight to a three-story apartment building located at East 42nd Street east of Pittman Road, according to KCTV.

Crews pulled several people from a second-story balcony, the report noted. Two children were critically injured, with nine adults suffering serious injuries.

People were seen jumping from the second floor of the Stonegate Meadows Apartments to escape, according to the local FOX affiliate, with a total of nine children and six adults transported to the hospital.
