According to a report from ABC7, a large-scale fire ripped through an industrial complex in Orange, California, creating a thick plum of black smoke that could be seen for miles, prompting a huge response.
The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) received the call for the incident to a foam product manufacturing business on Batavia Street just after midnight on Wednesday. The OCFA said the company’s employees saw smoke coming from one of the foam buns, as big as train cars, before the flames rapidly spread throughout the building.
Employees were forced to evacuate despite their attempts to move the bun to a more open area, but ignition was too fast.
Fire crews knocked down the main section of the fire at around 2:30 a.m., but firefighters remained on scene because some foam buns were still smoldering.
No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
