According to a report from WKBW, fire investigators are looking into the cause of a transformer fire that occurred at a National Grid substation in Buffalo, New York.
The Buffalo Fire Department (BFD) said that the fire started began at approximately 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Elm Street substation near Michigan Avenue and East Eagle Street. A plume of black smoke could be seen from across the city.
BFD crews were eventually able contain and then monitor the fire until it burned itself out. There were no major power outages in the area, and no injuries were reported.
The incident caused approximately $25,000 in damage.
