Five-Alarm Fire Tears Through Section of Cape Cod (MA) Hotel

According to a report from WCVB, a five-alarm fire heavily damaged a section of the Hyannis Harbor Hotel in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, just before 3 p.m. Sunday.

The hotel is located across the street from the Hy-Line ferry docks.

Hyannis Fire Department Chief Peter Burke said the fire was located between the walls in a room on the first floor and worked its way to the second floor of the hotel and into the attic. He also said that only one wing was directly affected by fire.

Approximately 50 firefighters from neighboring towns responded to the hotel.

Burke said that it was the third time in the past 20-plus years that the hotel has had a multi-alarm fire. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
