Two Jacksonville (FL) Firefighters Attacked While on Duty

Two Jacksonville firefighters transporting a patient were attacked, reports CBS 47 Action News Jacksonville.

The patient was being taken to the hospital for back pain when he took Jacksonville (FL) Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD) Capt. Latorrence Norris’ box cutter and began stabbing him in his upper chest and abdomen.

JFRD Engineer Vincent Harper, who was driving the ambulance, stopped the ambulance to assist Norris and was stabbed in the thigh on his right leg.

A security guard driving a golf cart took Norris to the trauma center. Norris had a collapsed lung and significant blood loss when he arrived at the hospital.
